Do I need an appointment for an oil change?

If you are looking to get an oil change done (and nothing more), we can take care of that in our quick service department - NO APPOINTMENT IS NEEDED. Please have your vehicle here by 4pm on the weekdays or 1 pm on Saturdays so we can complete the work by closing time. With that being said, afternoon drop-offs and Saturdays get very busy, and we occasionally run out of available slots depending on the number of vehicles we have in line. 


What is your wait time for an oil change?

While this answer depends on the number of vehicles currently in our quick service department, the average wait times are about 1.5 hours to 3.5 hours. This is an estimate and not your exact wait time.


Do I need an oil change or maintenance service?

Volkswagen suggests performing full maintenance every 10,000 miles OR once a year (if you drive less than 10,000 miles per year). Depending on the interval, the maintenance service would be considered a minor service (oil change and other minor suggestions) or a major service (oil change included, but other major suggestions happen at these intervals). All minor maintenance services can be done with our quick service department and NO APPOINTMENT is NEEDED. However, the major maintenance services DO require an appointment. Another helpful tip - 10k, 20k, 30k, 50k, 70k, and 90k services DO NOT require an appointment. 40k, 60k, 80k, and 100k services DO require an appointment. 


What can our Quick Service team do? What doesn't need an appointment?

Oil Change, Tire Rotation, State Inspection, Battery Replacement, Brake Fluid Flush, Tire Repairs, Tire Replacement, A/C Filter change (A/C repair or diagnostic CAN NOT be done in quick service and requires an appointment), Engine Air Filter Change, Spark Plugs, Gear Shift Cover trim Recall, Lug Nut Replacement, Rear Differential Service, Wiper Blade replacement, Most Bulb Replacement (LED Bulbs to require an appointment), Under Shield Replacement, General Inspection.

Vanguard Volkswagen of North Austin is making every effort to accommodate our customers needs with the supplies we have and personnel available. We appreciate your understanding that things are taking longer than usual as we all navigate this worldwide situation. 


Please be aware your appointment time is a check in time to meet with your Service Advisor to review your vehicles needs, not the time your vehicle will be dispatched to a technician to begin service. You vehicle will be placed in a priority queue to be inspected and repaired by a Volkswagen trained Technician. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
